Viard Raoul
was born in 1923. He is best known for his seascapes and brilliant colors applied with a spatula. The fact that he is a prolific painter who has been around for a long time has caused some to look upon his work as “Typical Haitian Painting” with commercial overtones. He has been exhibited locally and in the U.S. where his work was chosen by the Haitian government to inaugurate the World Health Organization in Washington, D.C.
