St. Hilaire Phoenix
was born in 1948 in Leogane. After the religious schools of Chretienne de Leogane and Sacre-Coeur, he attended the Lycee Alexandre Petion High School. He began painting in 1960 while attending the J.B. Daimer School of Vocation Arts. By 1966 he had been exhibited locally and in S.A. and was a member of the Foyer des Arts Plastiques.
