Artist and Painting
Louizor, Ernst was born in 1938 in Port-au-Prince. After high school (Lycee Toussaint L’Ouverture ’57) he worked in the tax section of Customs. As early as 1951 he enrolled in the Centre d’Art where he studied under Wilmino Domond. Later entering the Academie des Beaux-Arts shortly after its founding in 1959, he furthered his studies with George Ramponeau. A young, prolific, full-time painter, impressionistic in style, with a heavy palate knife, he experimented in a brown color period. He has been exhibited in Europe and the U.S. and his works hang in many private collections which previously included world renowned opera singer Maria Callas and others.
