Edugen Felix
was born in 1940 in Port-au-Prince. After school at the Lycee L’Ouverture, he began to sculpt at the Centre d’Art in 1958 at Jasmin Joseph’s recommendation. Felix’s son, Emmanuel Edugene, also entered the Centre d’Art in 1958. Dewitt Peters bought Felix’s first painting for $3.00, which had been done with borrowed brushes and paint.
